Biographical history
Louis François Léon Masson y Besnée nació en Tours el 31 de julio de 1825; llega a Sevilla hacia mayo de 1858 junto a su esposa Lorenza Simonin Berard; en 1863 llamaría a su estudio sevillano "Fotografía Parisiense; hacia 1866 se domicilia en Madrid y en 1868 abandona esta ciudad, se pierde su pista en 1881. Su catálogo de fotografías topográficas alcánza más de 400 imágenes de ciudades andaluzas, pero también numerosas vistas de Toledo, Madrid, Burgos, etc. (Fuente: Fernández Rivero, J.
